Cars, especially compacts, seem to get bigger with each redesign. The 2024 Honda Civic is close to the 2024 Honda Accord in terms of interior space as its midsized sibling. While the sizes are similar, the equipment and pricing are different.
The Honda Civic Starts $4K Cheaper
It's no surprise the Civic is cheaper, but the margin isn't vast. The entry-level LX trim starts at around $25,000, while the more powerful EX with its moonroof, heated cloth front seats, and split-folding rear seatback is about $28,000.
The range-topping Civic Touring costs about $32,000, though it's a quasi-luxury model with its leather trim and Bose audio system. Honda also builds a performance model of the Civic, the Civic Si sedan, a Civic Hatchback, and a hot-rod Civic Type R.
The 2024 Honda Accord starts at around $29,000 for the LX, while about $2,000 more gets the EX trim with its heated cloth front seats and a power moonroof. The Accord lineup tops out there unless you go for the hybrid version.

The Civic and Accord Have Remarkably Similar Features
Both vehicles come with a standard 7.0-inch infotainment screen, but the top-of-the-line Touring models of the Civic get a 9.0-inch unit. Both vehicles have wired Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility, Bluetooth streaming audio, push-button start, LED headlights, and the Honda Sensing suite of active and passive safety features.
Wireless CarPlay comes on high-end versions of the Civic, but not the regular Accord sedan covered here. Only the Civic Touring comes with leather-trimmed seating. You must step up to the Accord EX-L Hybrid for that feature. Both the Civic EX and Accord EX have heated front seats and 60/40 split fold-down rear seats.
The Accord has less than an inch more headroom in the front and rear compared with the Civic and identical front legroom measurements. However, the Accord offers 3.4 inches more rear-seat legroom.
With 16.7 cubic-feet of storage, the Accord is slightly more practical for grocery-getting duties, but the Civic and its 14.8 cu-ft aren't far behind. There are about 6 fewer cubic feet of passenger volume overall in the Civic.

Both Sedans Are Efficient
The Civic arrives in a few different powertrain configurations, with the entry-level LX and Sport trims featuring a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine making 158 horsepower and a continuously variable automatic transmission (CVT).
This setup allows the LX to achieve 31/40/35 mpg city/highway/combined, while the Sport is a bit less efficient, returning 30/37/33 mpg. The Civic EX and Touring models use a 180-hp turbocharged 1.5-liter four-cylinder with a CVT. This combo offers 33/42/36 mpg in the EX and 31/38/34 mpg in the Touring.
The 2024 Honda Accord LX and EX use a 192-hp turbocharged 1.5-liter four-cylinder with a CVT to deliver 29/37/32 mpg.
All vehicle pricing includes MSRP plus destination charges (set at the time of publication), and will be rounded to the nearest thousand.
