3rd Explorer and still happy

Wednesday, September 08, 2021

This is my third Explorer and I still love it. I drive about 25,000 a year with a heavy foot and typically drive my cars to the ground. In 4 months I’ve owned it, I already put 12,000 miles and fortunately zero issues, it’s swerving capabilities are still good, I enjoy the assisted driving, the sound from the speakers are clean and clear. It’s actually pretty quiet.

Another hacked together vehicle at a high cost

Tuesday, July 05, 2022

Started with paneling popping off at Less than 5k miles, then the window became stuck in the down position, 2 hours at the dealer from them to just get it back up and tell us the post won’t be in for awhile, now the radio isn’t working. Every mechanical malfunction came with Parts that were scorching hot to the touch when trying to troubleshoot. It’s at 11500 miles, owned since March and have regretted it since.

Great suv - plenty of comfort -roomy- sporty ride plus smooth on long trips - got the xlt with 2.3 & it really moves- I was reluctant to buy a 4 cylinder cause my dad always said v8 is best. Not anymore - this 4cyl outperforms & is more economical & 300hp is good enough for me- plus 8 cyl no longer was an option Saw Tons of complaints from 2019 & 2020 buyers but mine is fine- maybe 2022 had better q.c Only grip is wind noise from the plastic rear mirror cap & a lil shifty transmission but this car is a huge upgrade from my old 99 mountaineer - that lasted forever. I’d recommend this ford explorer in a N.Y second. While the ST has the sexy package- looks & performance stance - the deal is the xlt!
