mixed feelings

Sunday, April 25, 2021

This is my second Outback Touring. I thought that the new technology and new body platform would be great, but I'm not so sure. My previous Outback had absolutely no rattles or squeaks, but this one does--in several places around the dash and the passenger side door, especially. Of course, the dealer couldn't hear any noises. There's also an occasional hesitation when driving. It's almost like the torque converter is disengaging momentarily. The dealer told me that the transmission is still "learning" my driving habits. There was nothing like that in the 2019 Outback. The new screen size is nice, but as I've read, and agree, there are too many menus to go through to get to what one wants. The heated seat controls are just one example. Invariably I will get a warning to pay attention when I am trying to find something on the screen. So far gas mileage is great. On a smooth flat road the ride is very comfortable and on the freeway I like the lane centering feature that my other one didn't have.

Well worth the money

Friday, December 03, 2021

We bought this car new, recently retired we are traveling countryside. Bought it for the all wheel drive, it'll go dang near any where. Vehicle has alot of bells and whistles, only thing I'm not fond of, is the engines cylinders cutting off at stop light, it's useless. They should of focused on more horsepower. (You can shut it off) Would recommend getting turbo, other than that, I have no other issues. Highly recommend.

Great car

Friday, October 20, 2023

This is a perfect car except for three things. One, I find the seats uncomfortable for long trips. Two, the window up and down buttons are sticky and in very cold, frosty or wet weather if I put the window down it barely goes up and several times it wouldn't go up without heating the car up from the inside. Three, on the 12 inch touch screen, some of the regularly used buttons like the fan button are too small and I have to take my eyes off the road briefly to hit them just right. Gas milage is superb. I average 30 to 32 MPG and get 38 to 40 MPG on long trips. Overall a great car.
